DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/18 December) –  “Hilarious, creative, crazy, a true friend, a survivor.”

That was how Christine Rizardo-Omar, 50, a professor in Business Administration at the Ateneo de Davao University’s Graduate School, described herself in her Facebook account. 

Christine, who was among the brains behind the "Davao to the World" campaign of the Department of Trade and Industry in the late 1980s and early 1990s, was the epitome of strength in the two years she was coping with cancer. She  passed away peacefully at the San Pedro Hospital at 6:45 a.m. on December 16.

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/08 October) -- Bohol-born Caridad Manigque-Tiongco, matriarch of the Davao City-based Tiongco clan,  passed away gently at around 3 a.m. Wednesday (October 8) at the Davao Doctors’ Hospital, surrounded by her children.

She was 86.

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/24 July) – The city’s former vice mayor, Dominador Zuno, Jr. passed away at noon today due to a lingering illness. His remains were cremated this afternoon.

Zuno, 62, also served as Presidential Assistant for Political Affairs and was a columnist of the Mindanao Times.
