Mandaya folk now have a faucet in each household

MONKAYO, Compostela Valley (DA_MRDP/30 October) --  It is impossible, other residents say of the potable water system to be installed per household. But the Mandaya people’s organization in Brgy. Union, Monkayo, Compostela Valley proved them wrong.

Today, the people’s organization members get potable water right in their households, a far cry from when they had to walk two to three kilometers just to fetch water.

SIMUNUL, Tawi-tawi (15 April) – Born and raised in the small island of Simunul where the first mosque in the country still stands, Aprilyn The, 23, of  Sama ancestry, did not know about this historical and religious significance until she was told so by a professor in her class in college.

SIMUNUL, Tawi-tawi -- Some 5,500 residents here, representing 14% of the town’s 39,000 population, are afflicted with tuberculosis, rural health officer (RHU) Imelda Lee said.
